About some movies

Thu Sep 17, 2009, 3:50 AM
I love movies, you know. As always, I have watched many of them, and some deserve some emphasis:

District 9: A big surprise, no doubt the best sci-fi of this year. I must confess that when I saw the first trailer I thought it was no big thing. The second trailer changed my mind, and now that I watched the movie I can say and repeat, is an excellent movie! [link]

B13 Ultimatum: I loved the first movie (Banlieue 13), an excellent French production about a dangerous neighborhood surrounded by a wall in Paris of a next future. Spectacular le Parkour action scenes with the biggest name of this sport, David Belle and Cyril Raffaelli also, which is the "Jackie Chan French". I did not know there was already a sequel. A good adventure, especially for the actress Elodie Yung as the sexy and dangerous Tao. [link]
[link] [link] Oh, and no CGI effects here, real action scenes! Cool!

GI Joes: Not was a perfect adaptation, but at least it's fun ... I mean, there are so many absurdities made with CGI that the movie manages to be just that: fun. It should not be taken seriously.

Angel & Demons: A big disappointment, more than Transformers 2. The book is one of the best stories I ever read, with action and mystery in equal measure. The movie eliminates the whole essence of the original book, showing a poor history and uninteresting. The DaVinci Code was not a perfect fit, but was much better.

  • Mood: Joy
  • Listening to: Cars soundtrack
  • Reading: Calvin & Hobbes by Bill Watterson
  • Watching: The X Files
  • Playing: Tomb Raider Legend

daedalus: master inventor of ancient greece, contributor to the great fortress city of troy, architect of the maze of minos and creator of the stone giant, defender of crete.

How that links to a bloody great sea serpent... your guess is as good as mine

Transformers 2 did have a few WTF moments and my wife (not a movie buff) even pointed out the weird army/contructicons and the devastator/twins fight and she got even more confused when sam picked up the "key" and it was a size of a football even though it was big as a human in the fallens hands???I will still buy it and hope that jerry bruckheimer pays more attention and hires better editors in the future..

I think the GI Joe movie was surprisingly good, even though destro and Cobrs Commander looked RETARDED at the end.All those special effects turned to poop when they made his "metal mask"...and Cobra Commander shouldve had the helmet with the shiny visor....when I was a kid thta used to give me nightmares...it lost touch with the core of the story but Scarlett was hot,not to mention the Baroness!!

B-13 was great!

My only gripe about Snake Eyes?In the movie he is "relaxing" by walking on two swords. In a smoking jacket. He's the ninja Hugh Hefner!:jedi:
